Every year, between the end of March and beginning of April, the Brauerei (brewery) in Altenburg is taken over by a bunch of electronic music enthusiasts. This festival is known as Elektroanschlag.
And what a festival it was! I had heard great words about it but reality was even better. The location was perfect (the Brauerei is actually an historic building), the organisation was impeccable, the line-up was really innovative and interesting, the atmosphere was relaxed and very friendly.
I would like once again to thank Gandy and his fantastic helping crew. Nothing would have been possible without you. Elektroanschlag festival is really one of a kind.
On a more personal level, it was great to catch up with old friends and to meet new ones. Many familiar faces came from France. I got to finally meet with the sweet guys from Mourmansk 150 and managed to exchange a few words with my friends from Audiotrauma. The warm and gracious team running the Ant-Zen merchandising stall welcomed us really well. We shared many gins and laughter together. I did manage to buy a couple of CDs (thank you Mirko, they are awesome as always!)

My favourite live act was Esplendor Geometrico. These two never disappoint with their relentless beats and their powerful energy. Anemone Tube also caught me eyes (and ears.) I thoroughly enjoyed listening to his dark ambient poetic soundscapes. I missed Beinhaus because of too much chatting but their performance seemed quite intense, mixing elements of punk with old school banging on scrap metal material.
My performance as Riotmiloo was magical. Last time I played in Germany was with Eva|3 ten years ago. I was slightly apprehensive. How would the audience take this new project? Well, the audience was incredible. The minute we started, I felt them listening attentively, cheering, clapping, reacting passionately to my frantic outbursts as well as my whispers and calmer songs. Lovely people, you carried me through the whole performance. Your support was astonishing. I felt overwhelmed; you melted my heart and will stay in my memory forever. I’d also like to thank Eva|3 for his precious help, Stefan Alt for being a top notch person and photographer and thanks as well to anyone who attended and documented our gig.
